Defenses

Who can see and not feel hopeless?
Who can hear and not lose heart?
Who can think and keep on living?
Knowing the truth is covered in bloog?

Well, not I, so I didn’t want to know, didn’t want to waste my tears
Tried to close my eyes and ears; to strengthen my defenses
But Jesus made me open them, and here’s the reason he gave…
He said ‘If you’re going to be my hands and feet – you’re going to need your senses.’
